Randy has been a licensed architect
since 1984, working with quality firms on interesting projects throughout the country.
Randy received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from USL (now the University of Louisiana
Lafayette) in 1981. After "practicing" architecture in
Breckenridge, Colorado, St. Paul, Minnesota, and
receiving his Master's Degree from Penn State in 1991,
Randy returned to the south to continue his career.
In 1995, he taught the architectural CADD courses at USL in Lafayette, Louisiana and received a
1995 Outstanding Faculty Award (one of two faculty
members voted on by the students - and the greatest honor of his professional
career!).
In 1996, Randy and Jude moved east to the clear water and white sand
beaches of the Emerald Coast, and settled in the historic village of Bagdad, Florida.
On 8 february 2001 Groninger Architecture was founded...and thanks to great
clients, is still thriving!
Randy's hobbies include riding his Wilier Triestina Izoard XP (16.8
pounds of carbon fiber joy!), Bianchi Via Narone (aluminum),
Peugeot Triathlon (steel) road bikes, Bianchi Kuma (aluminum), Trek 850 (steel) or Diamondback Sorrento (aluminum - in Port Royal) mountain bikes,
brewing beer, digital and HO slot car racing, designing and building "things"
while hanging out in his shop, and relaxing on the beach.

- not the most expensive rides, but no one has more fun on a bike!
